Keyboard Maestro
I’ve been reading Ben Brooks’ review of the newest version of Keyboard Maestro and it reminded me that I’ve been wanting to share this nifty bit of script I use to keep my sanity at a fair threshold.
You see, there’s this gripe I’ve had with OS X: OS X cannot resize a window while retaining some sort of a gutter around the screen’s edge, whereas it actually forces a hard gutter at the bottom of screen when the dock is shown.
Now I wouldn’t be able to explain why I want this gutter, but I desperately tried to find an app that would do this. Although there are tons and tons of apps that bring some sort of window management to OS X — Cinch, SizeUp, Moom to name a few —, none of them does this.
Therefore I use Keyboard Maestro to trigger the following script each time Safari gains focus:

It is resolution-agnostic, i.e. it will work whatever your resolution or screen size.
Enjoy.
Update: Here is an updated version that deals nicely with Lion’s Fullscreen mode, thanks to Bill Cheeseman’s tip on Doug’s Applescripts for iTunes.
