What Really Came Out at WWDC
This post is a response to What to Expect at WWDC.
I wrote that I expected people to be disappointed. And people weren’t cause Apple rocked.
(Actually, markets were disappointed. But they always are the next day, somehow.)
Apple rocked. They announced Mountain Lion, iOS 6, new MacBook Airs, new MacBook Pros, a new Retina MacBook Pro, new Mac Pros, new AirPort Express stations, new Smart Covers for the iPad… Well, they announced new everything. Almost.
Obviously, they did not announce a new iPhone1, or a new Apple TV, or new iMacs or Mac minis.
You have to look at Apple’s page of the new MacBook Pro with Retina display. They added game-changing technologies.
A 7-hour battery life with a quad-core Intel Core i7 is really a feat. And cooling that beast whilst maintaining such a small size2 is, too. The display is also a drastic evolution.
What really came out at WWDC is the best Apple we’ve ever seen.
The legacy of Steve Jobs live through and the company is doing better than ever. It is still innovating, it’s bringing in tons of money and it’s years ahead of the competition.
