Will iCloud be iAmADampSquib outside of the USA?
Craig Grannell about the Apple TV’s lack of content outside the USA:
Using my UK iTunes account, it’s still the same content-light box it was when I got the device at Christmas, and that’s never changed for Brits since the dawn of the revamped black box. By contrast, Americans get Netflix, TV rentals, baseball and more.
It isn’t the UK alone that feels left aside. Indeed, every other country than the USA have close to no content on the Apple TV — put aside the content streamed from an iTunes library.
He feels, and I couldn’t agree more, that iCloud will work in the same way in the end and that customers outside of the USA won’t enjoy as much features as americans will.
That’s why I’m far more interested in the rumors of MobileMe Sync going free than iCloud itself.
