Chocolat, the Heir to Textmate

Chocolat is a text editor that aims at taking over where Textmate left off. Although it entered only recently in Alpha stage, and I couldn’t get my hands on it yet, its developers announced that Chocolat does almost everything Textmate did and more, like Lion’s Fullscreen mode and Versions.

Even though I’m still using Textmate and current alternatives do not appeal to me, this newcomer could very well change things. Priced £30, or $50 for US citizens, it has the potential to become the new Textmate, and I couldn’t be any happier.
