Omnibar for Safari

I cannot believe I haven’t linked to this useful plugin for Safari. Keep in mind it isn’t a regular extension but a SIMBL plugin, an input manager, which is an unsupported plugin interface that may render things a little unstable.

SafariOmnibar brings Chrome’s Omnibar to Safari: it removes the now-useless search box and allows the user to input search queries directly into the address bar. It’s also possible to add custom search providers.

I’ve been using for a few weeks already and I couldn’t live without it. My only gripe about Safari 5.1 has been solved thanks to Dailymotion co-founder Olivier Poitrey.
