Winning

When I read such a story, I’m reminded of two things:

  1. people really can be a bitch when they have strong opinions
  2. the US are so self-centered it’s almost vexing

Where I live, lots of, if not most, people are buying iPhones. People know the iPhone brand and Apple as company. However, they have close to no knowledge of Android, or that Google’s even making a phone OS.

Here, iPhone is a must-have product whereas Android is a fluke character in Alien.

Addendum: the Wall Street Journal has published a story about Android grabbing 2nd place in Europe. The current market share in Europe’s five biggest countries is as follows:

  1. Symbian with 37.8%
  2. Android with 22.3%
  3. iOS with 20.3%

Obviously, I have to admit that what I feel, and wrote about here, is noticeably different from figures and reality. But what about iPads? and iPod Touches?1 As they aren’t smartphones, they aren’t included in the charts ; to be fair, Android tablets aren’t either. But, really, Apple has sold many more iPads than every Android manufacturers have sold of their tablets.

My observation still stands, then.

  1. “iPods Touch” or “iPod Touches”, by the way? ↩
