iPhone 5 Rumor Resurfaces

MacRumors has commented on Business Insider’s story about the iPhone 5.

In the bullet points, I read:

  • “Flatter” form factor
  • Much faster than current hardware, but poor battery life

There has been a trend these years that consist in trimming the iPhone (and the iPod) even more each year, and many jubilate at the idea of an even flatter iPhone. I totally disagree. There’s a limit to how great flatter feels, and I do not believe flatter than the iPhone 4S is any better.

This concerns me even more when I read the second bullet point: “poor battery life”. I’d gladly give 2 or 3 millimeters to the thickness of my phone for a much better battery life.

(Final point on this rumor: it’s definitely a prototype and nothing near a release product. I cannot see Steve Jobs agreeing to have a 4-inch iPhone. 3.5” is the ideal screen size and many agree.)
