More on Linked Lists
A few days ago, Stephen Hackett polled his readers. He asked if he should switch the linked items in his RSS feed to the DF-style instead of the way they currently are.
While I admit I’ve been tricked a few times in clicking on the headline only to be redirected to 512 pixels. A few people has called him out, saying that it’s a way to increase his pageviews. That’s bullshit.
Stephen is a honest blogger, a man like you and me; he writes by passion, not for business.
He finishes his piece with what I think is the most important thing:
At this point, I am not changing the way the site works. I understand that a majority of people who responded to my survey would like me too, but I don’t think I’m doing anything convoluted by writing the way I do. (…) DF-style blogs are only found in our corner of the Internet, but the style just doesn’t feel right for me to implement.
You should do what your heart tells you to, not what the others push you to do.
