Surface by Microsoft

A new tablet, by Microsoft.

It clearly draws from the iPad — e.g. magnets to attach the cover, the black bezel and rounded corners — but is different in the same time: it appears to be only usable on landscape orientation1, has a keyboard and a trackpad embedded in the cover, and has some kind of stand in the back.

With the back stand, the front-facing camera and the (weird) new Windows logo at the bottom, I suspect it’ll only be usable in one orientation only, which complements the way Live tiles, or whatever they’re named, work.

However, as noted by many, Microsoft did not announce either a date of availability or a price. And until they do, Microsoft did not really announce a new tablet.
