Around 5 million HTC One smartphones sold since launch

From The Verge:

The figure will abate fears that HTC is dead in the water (the company is struggling internally) but does confirm what we all suspected: HTC isn’t able to keep up with Samsung in sales.

It’s a shame that consumers go with the cheaper-in-looks, but as-financially-expensive Samsung Galaxy S4. The HTC One is a ridiculously good looking smartphone that rivals with the iPhone 5 as far as industrial design is concerned.

I think it would have fared better under Google’s Nexus brand — and with a stock Android.

Really, it’s a shame the Galaxy S4 (and the other Galaxy S before it) sells as much, and that other Android vendors struggle to sell their phones.

Diversity and choice shouldn’t come in OS flavors but in phone vendors.
